In my role as a Clinical Psychologist, I believe in providing a well-rounded, holistic approach to individual therapy that addresses the unique needs and circumstances of each client. This personalized approach is designed to empower clients, helping them develop skills to manage their emotions and improve their overall well-being. By combining different therapeutic techniques, I work to create a supportive environment that promotes personal insight, emotional resilience, and positive change

Couples Therapy

When working with couples, I adopt a psychobiological approach to couples therapy, informed by cutting-edge research in the fields of neuroscience, attachment theory, and emotion regulation. This approach acknowledges the interconnectedness of each partner's biology, emotions, and relationship patterns, recognizing that these factors significantly influence each individual's emotional experiences and relationship dynamics.

PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) - Dr. Stan Tatkin's PACT is a research-driven, holistic therapeutic model that addresses the emotional, cognitive, and biological aspects of romantic relationships. By combining the latest insights from neuroscience, attachment theory, and emotion regulation, this approach helps couples improve their communication, connection, and overall relationship satisfaction. The core principles of PACT therapy include:

  • Present-Focused Approach: Focusing on the present and addressing relationship issues as they arise, rather than delving into past experiences.
  • Individual Needs: Prioritizing each partner's individual needs and vulnerabilities, while fostering mutual understanding and support.
  • Trust and Safety: Emphasizing trust, safety, and predictability in the relationship by establishing healthy boundaries and clear expectations.
  • Conflict Navigation: Developing tools and strategies to effectively navigate conflicts and stressors, ultimately strengthening the emotional bond between partners.
  • Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence: Encouraging partners to practice mindfulness and self-awareness to enhance their emotional intelligence and communication skills.

By adopting this psychobiological approach, PACT therapy empowers couples to build fulfilling, secure, and lasting relationships.

"Allison has so positively impacted my life that it is difficult to put into words. In our sessions, she consistently creates a space for me to be wholly honest, seek support, and feel understood.

She leads with empathy and kindness. I appreciate that she’ll give me practices outside of our time together (i.e. reading an article she sends, using a meditation app, etc.) to continue the work and betterment. She holds me accountable and has helped me find more grace with myself, love in my life, and tools to manage my anxieties than I thought was possible. I am so grateful."

"Couple's therapy is something that my partner and I had talked about doing over the years. But we didn't pursue until we were in a stressful point in our relationship.

Knowing there was so much at stake, I was quite nervous to jump right in. However, my anxiety was put at ease as soon as we started our session with Allison. She is compassionate, fair and non judgmental. She also provided actionable "goals" and homework for us. Since seeing Allison, my partner and I are stronger and continue to focus on creating a healthier relationship. Allison helped us learn to communicate better and recommend her services.

It is worth the investment!"
